On some servers, damaging the player can help bypass movement checks.
It could also send different types of damage packets, like TNT or fall damage packets, which would help bypass more anti-cheats.
The options could look something like this:

-Damage player
-Fall damage packet (could be on by default if damage player is enabled)
-TNT damage packet
-Fireball damage packet
-etc.
The same thing could in theory, also be applied to other movement modules like Longjump or Speed.
