1.7.10 vs 1.8.9

so when i hack on a server in 1.8.9 the setting i use get me banned but when i switch to 1.7.10 and use the same setting i don't get banned can anyone help with and i want to pvp in 1.8.9 because i can fly faster to chase people down.
