You can only use them in the pit on Hypixel. KillAura is risky too.

No problem. On Hypixel, Hitboxes are almost patched in all gamemodes like bedwars and skywars. Also try to use Reach and AimAssist instead of KillAura as that can get you banned.

Yes, this is a very problematic issue. Using HitBoxs in Hypixel is crazy because Hypixel has very strict detection for HitBoxs. Although the detection for reach in Hypixel may not be as strict, if you use it recklessly in front of staff members (such as what you mentioned with 3.5), you will get banned. If you use a violent mode of killaura, you will definitely get banned once reported by someone.
