unfortunately manual wtap is better consistently

wtap is to sprint reset for increasing ur knockback and u will most likely hit ur opponent too far that u cant hit them anymore after like 2-3 hits, and i dont think the select hits option in vape does anything better for combo (or maybe due to my high ping)

zest tap is what u want for a long combo
