InventoryManger not working with named items.

I just found out that the inventory manager does not work if items are renamed like they are on certain servers / gamemodes.
Not that the manager just doesn't move that item, it just completely stops working.

im not getting the same bug the inventory manager moves the items to the correct slot, could you tell me what game version
are you perhaps not in survival?

I am on 1.8.9 on Hypixel.
I am not sure if that is the exact issue but from my testing that caused it. I had the item in my inventory and when I dropped the item it worked again.

More specific its the Fishing Rod from the Archeologist kit on Skywars on Hypixel.
Perhaps I am an idiot, but it seemed extremely weird to me.
